Good morning - I hope everyone is keeping well and still staying at home. Have you started a new routine this week? As has been mentioned before, it's important to have your day planned out so that you know exactly what you are going to be doing. Plenty of short breaks and times to be active as well.

Newsdesk today has an article about Bees. Bees are fascinating creatures and they create a fabulous, sticky, sweet substance which I'm sure some of you will enjoy - Honey. I didn't know that honey doesn't go 'off' like milk or other foodstuffs. You could actually eat 3,000 year old honey! At the end of the article there are some fun activities to do.

On Junior Newsdesk there's an article about trees. At this time of year trees are beginning to sprout their leaves and we can hear them rustling in the wind. I didn't know that Ireland has one of the lowest amounts of trees in Europe. The article tells us about different types of tress and there is a simple little challenge for you to complete. Have fun.

This week our P4s would have been getting ready for their First Holy Communion. There are many events that we look forward to and this is one of the biggest days of the year in school. The children would have been in the church rehearsing, the choir would have been practising, Fr Alexander would have been preparing. What a busy week it would have been! We will have to look forward to it when we return to school instead. P4s, you could chat with your parents or even ring your grandparents or relatives and ask them if they can remember their First Holy Communion. Have they any memories they could share with you? I know that on my First Holy Communion day I got to wear new clothes (all brown clothes as it was the 1970s and Clark's sandals!). Miss McMullan remembers getting her hair in ringlets and she still has her wee bag with her rosary beads and prayer book in it. A lovely memento.

We continue to say our prayers for those who are sick and all of the people caring for them and continuing to work for all of us during these difficult times. Remember those people who are caring for you at home as well. They need to hear, 'please' and 'thank you.' They are doing such a great job, don't forget them. Tidying your room, washing dishes, helping out can make such a difference.

My joke today is a real rib tickler.

Why did the children eat their homework?

Because their teachers said it was a piece of cake!

Stay safe.
