St Patrick's Primary School, Saul, Downpatrick

St Patrick's PS Saul

Welcome

Set in the historic parish of Saul & Ballee, the heart of St Patrick's country, where our national saint began his mission in Ireland. His statue looks down on our school from the top of Slieve Patrick, the national monument dedicated in 1934.

As a Catholic school, we in St Patrick's work together to help all of our children stay safe, be happy and reach their potential. We are a friendly school and we all enjoy being part of the St Patrick's family. This website aims to give you a taster of our school, as well as providing up to date information for parents, pupils and the wider community.

Mission Statement

In St Patrick’s we aim to provide an education rooted in the Catholic Faith that helps everyone reach their full potential. We endeavour to provide our pupils with the opportunity to obtain the skills necessary for their futures. We will provide them with a safe, caring and happy school in which they are all valued as individuals and where their academic, emotional, physical and spiritual needs are nurtured in a family atmosphere.

The Governors and Staff of Saint Patrick’s Primary School believe the school to be a vital part of our Catholic community. We are firmly committed to provide a broad and balanced curriculum for all our children in line with the requirements of the N Ireland curriculum. Children are developed intellectually, socially, physically, spiritually and morally. We have developed a positive pastoral care system that values the individual child and endeavours to give each child the opportunity to enjoy success at their own level.

The aims of a Christian Education are at the heart of our school, fostering the Catholic truths, attitudes and values shared in our parish community.

Establishing close links with home, the parish and wider community we seek to establish an educative community, centred on Christ so that His values and gospel message pervade the whole life of our school.

‘We work together, We play together, We pray together.’
