Good morning - it is eight weeks today until we are officially about to begin our summer break on 30th June. These eight weeks are normally amongst the busiest of the year for all of our classes. P1-P6 would be getting ready for the step up to their next class and P7s would be out at various sporting activities and preparing for the transition to their new schools. One of the most important stepping stones is their trip to the Share Centre in Fermanagh. Today they should have been arriving in school with cases big enough to sleep in and enough sugar (sweets) to power the whole of our school for a month! Mrs Green has been sharing some 'Fermanagh tasks,' on Seesaw this week. We'll also have a nice wee surprise for P7s before the end of the week as well.

Newsdesk today has an article about pets. Being at home means you are able to spend much more time with them. One of the people in the article even has a pet donkey and pony that he keeps in his house! Arnold Schwarzenegger is a strange man!

Junior Newsdesk shares a story illustrated by Alex Scheffer. You will know him as the man who illustrates Julia Donaldson books such as The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom and The Snail 7 the Whale. His story is for children and their families. Worth a listen.

This week is Dr Seuss week. Tonight there is a bedtime story that you can get the details on by visiting: https://www.stpatricksprimarysaul.co.uk/news/dr-seuss-week/ Dr Seuss not only wrote lots of great books with great characters (Thing 1 & thing 2 are my favourites) but he also had lots of quotes that I like to use. A few that I found recently that are perhaps very handy at the moment:

  • If you never did you should. These things are fun, and fun is good.
  • Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the things you can think up if only you try!
  • Don’t give up! I believe in you all. A person’s a person, no matter how small.

And of course there's one that we see around school:

  • The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.

Have a lovely day and keep doing your best. Thanks for the brilliant photos and you can send yours in to:

Stay safe.

Forgot a wee joke yesterday, so here's one of my best ones:

What did one eye say to the other eye?

Between us, something smells!
