Thursday 4th June 2020
Good morning.
Nearly at the end of the week and looking forward to the weekend. As things seem to be getting a little more relaxed, I hope you are all remembering to keep washing your hands and be careful about social distancing. As we move forward, these will be just as important as ever and when we return to school, everyone will need to be following the rules very closely.
There's an excellent article on Junior Newsdesk today about lockdown haircuts. Any photos of yours?
P7s will find out today which schools they will be going to in the next academic year. Hopefully they will be happy with where they are going – I know their new schools will be very lucky to have them. We’d like to remind them that they’re still ‘ours,’ and we’d love to keep each and every one of them! I can honestly say they are a special bunch and have been brilliant while they’ve been in St Patrick’s and at home (as far as we can see anyway!)
The Health & Safety Executive for Northern Ireland, “Be aware kids – Child safety on farms.’ Competition started on Monday. You can access detail on their website at: www.hseni.gov.uk Details were sent out yesterday and are also be available on our school website. This week’s theme is about the dangers from slurry.
How’s your goal for this week going? Have you restarted your routine? Are you keeping an eye on your family’s routine?
Remember to let your teachers see what you’ve been up to on Seesaw. Teacher’s will have been in touch this week if they haven’t heard form you in a little while to see how you are doing. If you’re having any difficulties, contact the school office. Any issues with devices or getting online, please let us know as well. Tel. 02844614145 We’ll do our best to help you out.

P4, P5, P6, P7 have been working on Mathletics and a large number have received their first certificates. Well done everyone. P3 have their log in details and some have already earned their bronze certificates! We are learning how it works as you complete the assigned tasks, so bear with us please. Some children have not logged in yet and we need them to do so before the end of this week.
Accelerated Reader is still available for the P4-P7 children. While there have been many of you taking quizzes, a number have not and we need you to do so before the end of term. 84% of children have taken at least one AR quiz, while some children have taken as many as 21 quizzes! Well done. If you’re having issues logging in, use the information on our website to help. You must use the link specific to our school: https://ukhosted6.renlearn.co.uk/2124881/Public/RPM/Login/Login.aspx?srcID=s
Thanks to everyone for your great pictures. Send us a photo please. If you'd like to share pics, please e-mail to: info@stpatrickspssaul.downpatrick.ni.sch.uk
Remember to keep praying for those who are sick or alone and those people who are working so hard to look after them. Pray for everyone who is so busy looking after you and still working to ensure we have everything we need. We are so grateful.
Stay safe.
Today’s joke:
Heard the lockdown news about the Seven Dwarves?
After the latest easing of rules, 6 of them can meet for a BBQ - and one of them isn’t Happy...
Thanks to Coen and Eloise’s dad for that one!
