Thursday 30th April 2020

30th Apr 2020

Good morning - Hopefully you are all still keeping well. It was great to see the rain yesterday as the farmers needed it badly. Thankfully it brightened up in the evening and perhaps you were able to get outside for some fresh air. Or maybe you used that extra time inside yesterday for a little extra reading?

It's hard to believe that we have reached the last day of April. We are now entering May and during this month we pray to Mary. In our Grow in Love programme we learn about Mary and we learn our prayers to Mary. During this month we have our May altars in school and we pray the Rosary. This is something you could do at home. You can visit the Grow in Love website for further resources.

Simply login on the www.growinlove.ie website with the following details:

Once you're in go to sixth class, then Seasonal/Additional Material and then Lesson 4. You'll find the prayer Hail Holy Queen and the Luminous Mysteries along with some other nice activities that could be completed during the month.

Newsdesk today is very ineteresting. Most books are set in imaginary places and we'll have heard of Narnia or Hogwarts. There's a challenge to draw a map of your own fantasy island. I always liked the island of Nomansian in the movie Incredibles and my brothers favourite when he was little was Tracy island from Thunderbirds. I'd love you to send in your fantasy island designs and we could share them with everyone else.

Tomorrow is not only the first day of May, it is also Pyjamarama Day. BookTrust NI are hosting a special day with lots of reading activities that you can complete at home in your PJs! I knwo we've had our Pyjama day in school on World Book Day, but here's another wee excuse for a PJ Day. You can check out the details via:

They also have some lovely daily activities at https://www.booktrust.org.uk/books-and-reading/have-some-fun/

Have a good day and stay safe.

Why couldn't the pirate play cards?

Because he was sitting on the deck!
