NSPCC Parents morning

8th Feb 2019

Grainne from NSPCC came along this morning to explain to parents how they could help their children stay safe online. She started by saying that O2 will look at any device you have in the home and help you set up the parental controls you may need to ensure your children's safety. Just visit any O2 shop and they will be happy to help. You don't even have to be an O2 customer!

Grainne went through a number of potential dangers and explained that we as parents must also set the right example and be confident that the technology available to our children is safe. She also explained that many apps in use by children at our school should not be used until they are at least 13 - Eg Whatsapp, Snapchat, Instagram.

Lots of information is available via the NSPCC and Think You Know and there are links to these sites in our Parents' section.

Thanks Grainne for such an informative morning!
