The boys from St Pat's along with Mourinho swept aside all before them and took the NI 2018 Futsal Championship by storm at the Valley Leisure Centre, Newtownabbey. Defeated only once in the league stage, they took hot favourites Ballymacash to a penalty shootout in the semi-final. Danny in goals stood strong and saved two, while Shane & Darragh converted well and sent them through to the final.
With the nerves in tatters off the field, the boys showed no nerves on it. Ebrington PS were the opponents and they didn't know what hit them as the St Patrick's whirlwind Shane struck twice before Captain Courageous Luke added a third to put them in the pole position. There were still another six minutes to play and the Ebrington boys showed why they had made it to the final by camping out in the St Patrick's half. Defending in numbers, Conor, Darragh and Danny the Cat repelled each attack, with a deflected shot going in off Darragh's nose making Mourinho even more jumpy than she had been! The final whistle blew and was welcomed with cheers from Ryan, Patrick, Danny, Shane, Conor, Darragh & Luke and with sighs of relief from Mourinho, Mr McGrath and Mourinho's other half. The cup was coming home to Saul!!!!
The presentation took place with IFA officials presenting the magnificent trophy. Well done boys, we couldn't be more proud of you!
