Lent 2021
28th Feb 2021
We have started the season of Lent and should be aiming to Fast, Pray and Give. Fasting can mean many things and most of us believe that it means to 'go off' something. One of the things we could all fast from over Lent would be fasting from hurtful words and saying kind words. We could fast from anger and practice patience. Fast from worries and be filled with hope. Fast from selfishness and be compassionate to others.
What are your Lenten promises? Here are some that the children came up with:
- Give up sweets, crisps, chocolate
- Less iPad/TV
- Try to be kinder
- Be more helpful
- Be a better listener
- No fast food
- More prayer
- No Playstation, X-box, Nintendo
- Leave my mobile phone off for longer ( parents too!)
- Pray for something or someone different each day
- Donate to charity
- No treat Fridays
- Donate books
- Eat more vegetables
- Give up being lazy
- Get up earlier
- Take Mum or Dad for a walk once a week!
Some lovely ideas for us all to try out over the next few weeks.
