Feast of the Epiphany

6th Jan 2018

Each year we celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany on 6th January. Read all about it from our new P6 Grow in Love book.

Did you know?

The 6th of January is widely known as the Feast of the Epiphany. It is also known as Nollaig na mBan – Women’s Christmas. It is so called because in times past in Ireland, women did most of the household preparations for Christmas – the cooking, cleaning, buying and wrapping of presents, etc so they were treated to a days holiday on 6th January. On this day men would do the household chores and women could relax. Now, wouldn't that be a great idea?
