As we enter the last few days before the Christmas break, we've enjoyed some great craic as a school family. Today all of the children and staff gathered in the hall for Disco Bingo and then the older children stayed on for a Christmas quiz.
For Disco Bingo we had the older boys and girls with the youngest and it was so lovely to see our P7s & P6s having fun with the wee ones during the bingo. Mr Cunningham's tunes certainly got everyone off their seats. Each number popping up on the screen was immediately followed with a wave of voices repeating through the hall. Prizes for lines went pretty quickly but with the clock ticking it seemed as if we'd never get a full house until Ciara and Elayna screamed BINGO! First prize of 'paper money,' was received with broad smiles by the girls.
After the younger children left, the quiz teams set up. Mr McGrath used the wheel of names along with Elin & Oliver to randomly pick the teams before lunchtime, so they were mixed between P4, P5, P6 & P7. The competition was fierce and ended with a tie-breaker question won by Rory P7 for his team aptly named 'The Winners.' (As were two other teams btw!)
Thanks to all of the children for really getting into the spirit. Thanks to our PTFA for providing some prizes as well.
A big part of Christmas is for sharing craic with family and the St Patrick's family certainly showed that today.
