Lots of parents were able to come along and learn more about our fantastic new Accelerated Reader programme last week. Liam from Renaissance Learning explained how he uses the programme in his school and how much it has improved and changed the reading of children from P4-P7. We have also seen a huge change in reading habits in our school. An added benefit is that with the Home Connect element of the programme you can also access your child's reading hub. You can see what great progress they are making and what books they have read. It will even send you an e-mail when they have completed a quiz! Letters were sent home this week with all the information to get logged in. There's also a section that can help you and your child choose the correct books to continue their reading progress. If you have any difficulties with it, please contact the school office and we'll try to help.

We are aiming to have read 20 million words by the Christmas holidays and the children have already read over 16,000,000 since the end of September. WOW!
